Christine R.'s Story
Mrs. Christine Robinson Likins, age 94, died peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Vance Likins Jr., with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.
Born in Oxford, Maine, Christine was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsa (Watt) Robinson, sister of the late John Robinson and Elinor Goodwin.
Christine served in the Army's WAC (Women's Army Corp) as a communication specialist during WWII. She was on the board of directors for Robinson Manufacturing of Oxford, Maine. She enjoyed many hours playing scrabble and games beachside. She also enjoyed jazz music and traveled the world with the Count Basie Band with her late husband.
She leaves her one son, Vance F Likins, III and his wife Beverly of Marblehead. She was the grandmother to Sandy Norris, Meri Martin and Skip Likins. She was the great-grandmother to Shawn, Sarah, Shayla, Susie Emily, David, Tabitha, Isabella and Lucky. She was the aunt to George, Joseph and Barbara Robinson and Alice, Stuart and Philip Goodwin, all of Maine.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Marblehead Animal Shelter, 44 Village Street, Marblehead, MA 01945.
