DANVERS - formerly of Melrose, Charlotte Hope Corso, 72, passed away following a brief illness with leukemia. She was the wife of the late Francis L. Corso.
Born in North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late James and Velma (Gray) Sanders. With her father in the U.S. Navy, Charlotte moved all over the United States, she enjoyed traveling and seeing the different states. She loved spending time with family and friends, but her favorite was being "Nana" to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Darrell Sanders and his wife, Patti of Danvers, and Jon Sanders of Cambridge; a daughter-in-law, Ginger Sanders of Tewksbury; her siblings, Edward Sanders of Nev., James Parr Sr. of N.D., and David Liebig of N.D.; her beloved grandchildren, Krystal Shores of Colo., Ashley Shores of N.H., Grace, Brendan, and Maria Sanders of Danvers, Kirsten, Joshua, and Ethan Sanders of Tewksbury, and David, and Joseph Tamayo of Tewksbury; a great-grandson Emmett; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three siblings, Charles Parr, Leslie Parr Jr. and Darlene Konrad.
Charlotte's family would like to thank the staff of the Massachusetts General Hospital for the special care they gave her. The Oncology and Emergency Departments made a difficult time easier.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited.
