BUMPASS, VA - Charles H. McEwen, 67, of Bumpass, Va. and formerly of New Hampshire, died suddenly Monday morning February 5th at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Virginia.
He was born in Peabody, Mass. on March 22, 1950, a son of the late Harold E. and Grace E. (Weinburg) McEwen. He attended the Wallis School and Peabody High School. Charles was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Marine Corp from 1968 to 1974. He was also employed by Harley Davidson for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne T. (Kirane) McEwen, of Bumpass, VA; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy (McEwen) and Michael Mullen of Derry, NH, three granddaughters and a great-grandson, Alisha McEwen and Tristan Simard of Nashua, NH and Kailey and Clarissa McEwen of Derry, NH; six sisters, Sandra and the late Raymond Pinkham of Salem, Mass., Margaret "Peggy" and Jack Poirier of Dale City, VA, Judith and Dale Ryan of Danvers, and Grace "Betty", Teresa and Heidi McEwen, all of Peabody; one brother, James and Angela McEwen of Leonardtown, MD, sister-in-law, Judith Kirane, two brothers-in-law, Joseph and Kathy (Fagan) Kirane and Kevin and Mary (Mastas) Kirane, all of Lowell, MA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the father of the late Charles Henry (CH) McEwen.
Calling hours will be Monday February 12, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held Tuesday Morning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home and a burial at Pinecrest Cemetery in Litchfield, NH is planned for the spring.
