Catherine K. Sigurdson


DANVERS, MA - Catherine K. (Kessaris) Sigurdson, age 88, of Danvers, formerly of Beverly, passed away Tuesday evening, January 30, 2018, at Putnam Farm in Danvers. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Sigurdson, and mother of the late Jayne Sigurdson. Born in Beverly, Catherine was the daughter of the late James and Mary Kessaris.
She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, in Beverly. Catherine volunteered for many years at the Perkins School for the Blind, the Beverly School for the Deaf, and Beverly Hospital. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Diana Chapter 101.
Surviving Catherine are her two sons, Mark Sigurdson, and his wife, Susan, of Salem, Va., Scott Sigurdson, and his wife, Mary, of Georgetown; granddaughters, Sarah Jayne Bottiglieri, of Williamsburg Va., and Elizabeth Mary Sigurdson, of Fairfax Va.; grandson, Stephen Sigurdson; great-grandchildren, Andrew, and Luke Bottiglieri. She also leaves behind a brother, Charles Kessaris, of Danvers.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Stephen; her daughter, Jayne; her parents, Mary and James Kessaris; her sisters, Jane Callichy, Mary Barry, Ethel Rowe, Effie Wallace, Constance Christo; and her brothers, George Kessaris, Paul Kessaris, Kenneth Kessaris.
Her funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Gifts, P.O.
