Bruce S.'s Story
Bruce S. Andersen, 76, of Boxford, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bruce was born in Boston to the late Arvid and Louise (Mahony) Andersen. Bruce was the devoted husband of Judith A. (Hawkes) Andersen, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. Bruce was a middle school teacher for 10 years at the Atwell Middle School in Wakefield, Mass., and then spent 21 years at the Hamilton-Wenham Middle School. An avid outdoorsman, Bruce loved to golf, camp, fish and garden, as well as play tennis. He was a member of the Austin/Healey Club of America.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Judith A. Andersen of Boxford; his sons, Erik Andersen and his fiancee, Amanda Gray of Utah, and Peter Andersen of North Easton, Mass.; his grandchildren, Treyson, MaCree and Quincy; and his brother, David Andersen and his wife, Judith of East Harwich, Mass.; as well as his cousin, Viktor Hagen and his wife, Sissel of Borsa, Norway; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, November 9, at 12 Noon at the Byfield Parish Church, 132 Jackman Street, Georgetown. Interment will be held privately in the Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
