Bonnie's Story

PEABODY - Mrs. Bonnie L. Keene, 67 of Peabody formerly of Salem died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at The Lafayette Rehabilitation Center in Marblehead.
Born in Stoneham, she was the daughter of the late Edward B. and Eva (Barnett) Keene. Raised and educated in Salem, she was a graduate of Salem High School.
A longtime resident of the City of Salem, Bonnie had worked for the City of Salem Fire Department as a Dispatcher for 14 years. She cared for the many residents throughout the city and enjoyed the many friendship she made.
A devoted and caring daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Bonnie cherished spending time with her family. She loved to make ceramics and enjoyed playing softball and basketball. She was devoted to her faith and taught Sunday School at the First Unitarian Church in Salem. She will be deeply missed.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters; Rona L. Farinelli and her husband, Dana of Hudson, Fla. and Bonnie L. Armendariz & her husband Joe of Oklahoma, her five grandchildren; Maegan, Kayla and Dakota Farinelli, Nicholas Keene-Armendariz and Alexis Armendariz, her two sisters; Joyce Garlington of Maine and Gail McKenzie of NH and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her canine companion, Buddy, her caretaker, Lindsay and special neighbors and dear friends, the Ricci Family, Liesner Family, Kathy Whitehouse and Tony Ventura. She was the mother of the late Lara Rizzo and sister of the late Patricia Callahan and Ronald Keene.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service which will be held graveside at Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading on Wednesday, January 3rd (Today) at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Bonnie's memory to National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave, Norwood, MA 02062.
