SALEM - Beverly June Colella, 74, beloved wife of Joseph F. Colella Sr., died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Ocean View Assisted Living in Beverly.
Born in Denver, CO, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Georgia (Gardner) Kay. She was a graduate of West High School, Class of 1961 in Denver, CO.
Mrs. Colella was a hardworking and loving home maker taking care of her family for most of her life. She loved helping others and had been employed for over 15 years as a home health care aid for the Marblehead Visiting Nurses Association. Prior to that she had worked at Thermal Circuits in Salem and at GTE Sylvania at its Jefferson Avenue plant in Salem.
A resident of Salem since 1969, Mrs. Colella was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved walking to Forest River Park daily and would talk to many of the neighbors on the way.
In addition to her husband, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage, she is survived by two sons, Anthony Colella and his wife, Elisa of Middleton and Joseph F. Colella Jr. and his wife, Kristen of Connecticut and five grandchildren, Justin, Antonia, Joseph, Dominic and Dante.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, 15, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly.
