Bertrand's Story

LYNN, MA - Bertrand P. Lejeune, age 68, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018, while visiting California. He was the husband of Mrs. Sandra (Calef) Lejeune. Bert, was born on March 17, 1949, in Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada, then moved to Lynn in 1963 with his family. He was the son of the late Clarence and Gabrielle (Lavoie) Lejeune, and son in law of the late Robert and Roxine (Bugden) Calef.
Bert graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1968. He was drafted into the Army and proudly served in Vietnam. Bert was a general contractor for 48 years, a master craftsman of his trade. He enjoyed his work and treasured his customers, considering them his family. He enjoyed reading and vacationing. Bert was family oriented, with his best and happiest times spent with his family and friends.
Bert is survived by his wife, and high school sweetheart, of 47 years, Sandra; his daughter, Jennifer; son, Brian and his wife, Michele; and his beloved grandchildren, Brandon and Hannah. He leaves his Aunt Yvette Lavoie; his siblings, Claude and his wife, Donna, Irene Trudeau, and her husband, Paul, Sylvie Decker, and her husband, Larry, Marc, and his wife, Cindy, Jackie Zachko, and her husband, Andy; a brother-in-law, Earl Roney; his in-laws, Steven and Gail Calef, Karen and Joe Szczechowicz, Kathy and George Morse, Wendy and Doug Kastanotis; 17 nieces and nephews; and 19 great-nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Diane Roney.
Bert's funeral will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018, at 12 p.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean Street (Route1A), Lynn. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery with his fellow veterans. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are from 9 to 12 p.m. prior to his funeral.
