Bertram W. "Bert" Fawson
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late William B. and Marion E. (King) Fawson. Raised and educated in Salem, he was a graduate of Salem High School.
An honorable discharged Veteran of the Korean war, Bert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Upon his honorable discharge, you could find Bert by the ocean. He was happiest when clamming throughout the North Shore, a trade he learned and did with his father. Bert also worked for many years as an Operator of Waste Water for South Essex Sewage until the time of his retirement.
Bert enjoyed spending time with his family and loved the many road trips he went on with his devoted sisters Joan and Brenda to New Hampshire where they shopped and went out to eat. He also enjoyed the day trips he would take to the casino with his best friend John "Buddy" Kenny which they enjoyed one final trip a week before his passing. Bert also cherished a great Chinese cuisine meal at Sugar Cane with his special daughter Kathy.
Bert's family would like to extend great appreciation to the staff and residents at Ledgewood who made is stay much easier as they enjoyed his wit, humor and keen memory. He will be deeply missed.
