BEVERLY - Arthur L. Fleming, age 80, died December 27, 2017 after a long illness surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Jeannette (Collin) Fleming. A lifelong Beverly resident he was the son of the late Maurice and Mary (Craigan) Fleming.
Arthur worked for the city of Beverly as a mason foreman for over 25 years. He was a member of the Beverly/Salem Elks lodge #1309.
He enjoyed sports, especially Beverly High School Football, his backyard pool, playing cards, spending time with his family and going for long rides with his wife.
Surviving him in addition to his wife Jeannette with whom they shared over 59 years of marriage are three daughters, Rhonda Gagnon and her husband, Michael of Beverly, Brenda Avigian and her husband, Richard of Beverly, Donna Fleming and her significant other Matthew McCarthy of Salem, N.H.; five grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Turner, Matthew, Katie, Patrick Avigian. He was predeceased by two brothers, Maurice and James Fleming, two sisters, Mary Page and Anna Miaskiewicz.
ARRANGEMENTS - His funeral Mass will be held at St Mary Star of the Sea Church, Beverly on Wednesday, January 3 2018 at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in North Beverly Cemetery.
