Arthur E.'s Story
Arthur E. Jackson 90, beloved husband of the late Myrtle E. (Nelson) Jackson, died Thursday, August 3, 2017, at home, surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Arthur E. Sr. and Dorothy (MacQueen) Jackson.
He received his education in the Lynn school system. He has been a resident of Salem for over 40 years.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army.
Mr. Jackson had been employed as a machinist by trade for over 50 years until the time of his retirement.
A woodworker and craftsman, Mr. Jackson was an accomplished model ship builder which he took great pride in over the years. He was a member of the VFW and D.A.V. in Salem and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Danvers. A firearms enthusiast, he was a life member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club. Arthur was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving him are two daughters, Doreen M. Jefferson of Salem and Janis E. Jefferson of Danvers; a son, Ron Jefferson of Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his beloved pet Yorkies, Buddy and Peanut.
His Funeral Service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Wenham Cemetery. Contributions may be made in his memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
