Arlene's Story

BEVERLY - Arlene C. (Mooney) Badessa, 86, beloved wife of Robert S. Badessa, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Marina Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Quincy.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (O'Rourke) Mooney. Arlene graduated from St. Thomas the Aquinas High School in Jamaica Plain and attended the North Shore Community College.
Mrs. Badessa had been employed as an office administrator at the Waring School in Beverly until the time of her retirement in 1994. Prior to that she had worked at John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston and the Metropolitan Transit Authority.
A longtime resident of Beverly, Arlene enjoyed music and was a talented artist. She served on the City of Beverly Arts Council. She also enjoyed the outdoors, including bird watching and sailing.
In addition to her husband, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage, she is survived by her son, Robert S. Badessa Jr. of Beverly, her daughter, Tara Calianos of Stoneham, two grandchildren, Isabella and Sophia Calianos of Stoneham, her sister, Patricia Mullen of Quincy and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Robert Mooney.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly.
