Antonio's Story

Antonio DiPaolo 82, beloved husband of Carol DiPaolo, died Saturday, September 30, 2017, at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Ortona, Italy, he was the son of the late Angelo and Maria (D’Angelo) DiPaolo. He immigrated to the United States in 1954 and attended Trade School in Lynn where he learned his trade as a brick and tile layer.
Mr. DiPaolo owned and operated DiPaolo Tile Installation for many years until the time of his retirement. Prior to that he had worked for the Bricklayers, Masons and Plasterers International Union of America Local #40 for almost 40 years.
A longtime resident of Beverly, he was a member and past President of the Northeastern Avicultural Society, the Italian Community Center in Beverly and the Societa “Patria ‘e Lavoro." He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, he is survived by two daughters, Anne-Marie DiPaolo of Beverly and Angela DiPaolo of Danvers; a son, Anthony DiPaolo and his wife, Patricia of Beverly; four grandchildren, Anthony DiPaolo and his wife, Pamela, Ashley Smith and her husband, Jason, Alyssa DiPaolo and Sophia DiPaolo; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Anna DiPaolo; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Florence Marchegiani and Mario DiPaolo.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923; or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
