Anne M.'s Story
Anne M. Tullson-Johnsen of Danvers, Mass., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.
She was born on January 23, 1943, in Providence, R.I. Anne, the daughter of Rudolph Tullson & Florence (Bradbury) Tullson, grew up in Cranston, R.I. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire and received a Master’s Degree in library and information science from Simmons College. She also studied at Sorbonne University in Paris, France during her junior year abroad.
Anne started her professional career as a French teacher in Conway, N.H., where she met her husband, Ronald L. Johnsen. She also taught for a number of years in the Andover, Mass. school system. She later switched paths and became a librarian, starting out as a reference librarian at Harvard University, and finishing her career as the library director at North Shore Community College.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Rachel (Johnsen) Blanchette; son-in-law, Caleb Blanchette, and their two children, Jakob and Mason Blanchette, all of Danvers. She is also survived by her brother, Mark Tullson and sister-in-law, Lee Tullson of The Villages, Fla., and leaves behind many beloved extended family members and dear friends.
Anne was an avid reader who also loved traveling, the fine arts, and dining out with family and friends. However, her greatest love and joy were her grandsons. She was a kind, hardworking, and much loved person who will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
