Angeline's Story

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA - Angeline M. (Gallant) Madden 86, beloved wife of the late Francis B. Madden Jr., died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John and Denise Gallant and was raised and educated in Salem and Middleton.
Mrs. Madden had been employed for many years as a lunch monitor for the Manchester school system until the time of her retirement in 2010. As a young woman, she had worked at Jack's Clothing Store in Salem.
A longtime resident of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Angie dedicated her life to raising her six children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving her are three daughters, Cathleen Hamilton of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Patricia Madden and her husband, Alex Beaman of California and Susan Gamble and her husband, Andy of Florida; three sons, Francis B. Madden III and his wife, Diana of Quincy, James M. Madden of Nevada and John N. Madden and his wife, Maryann of Danvers, 10 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Madden of Beverly Farms; a brother-in-law, John Madden of Melrose, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Lee Blake, Eva Fackler, Rena Williams, Billy, Phil and Albert Gallant.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church, 62 School St., Manchester on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
