Andrew T.'s Story
Andrew T. Chapman Sr., 70, of Marblehead, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at MGH in Boston after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Glens Falls, N.Y. on February 14, 1947, son of the late William and Marion (Sallans) Chapman.
He was a graduate of Marblehead High School and Salem State. He received his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Boston University. Andy had his own software consulting company focused on healthcare software for doctors and hospitals. Andy was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy in the mid-1960s.
A lifelong resident of Marblehead, he loved classic cars, especially corvettes owning many different ones throughout the years. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he enjoyed sharing great food and company with family and friends. Andy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his former wife, Cheryl M. Chapman of Harvard; daughter, Jennifer Thomas of Westford, and her husband, Marc; son, Andrew Chapman Jr. of Marblehead and his fiance, Tia Boyle; two grandchildren, Ariana and Juliette Thomas of Westford; his sisters, Denise Mura and her husband, Ron of Natick, and Abigail Vendeville and her husband, Peter of Sun City Center, Florida; and his brother, Bruce Chapman and his wife, Judy of Worcester.
Visiting hours for Andy will be held in the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead on Tuesday, September 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at noon. Burial with honors to follow at the Waterside Cemetery in Marblehead. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
